My paycheck was bigger than what I was expecting!

June 30, 2008 on 10:20 am | In Personal | No Comments

My paycheck today was bigger than what I was expecting! :D This means I may be able to help a friend out, by getting him the two domains that he wanted. ;) It also means I can eat food from work still. :) Life is good for a change, but I know it may not stay this way.

Today before work, I am going to go see if I can get a job application from a  computer place. Hopefully I will be able to, because I am tired of working in a fast-food place. I also do not want to work for McDonalds for the rest of my working days, either! ;)

I could use some help coding JobMarket.

June 29, 2008 on 4:09 pm | In Programming | No Comments

I believe I could use some help coding JobMarket. Not just because this is my first big project, but also because I don’t know PHP and MySQL that well myself. I want to make it so that both job offers and resumes (on their respective page) are just summaries that lead to the full details. But I have absolutely no clue how to code this. I may be interested enough (if the programmer is Canadian) to offer them a share of Joffee Publishing Inc. and a spot on the company’s board of directors. It would be good to have a partner who had skills where I do not have much right now.

If you are interested in helping me code (and maybe run) JobMarket, please contact me via the contact form. ;)

Next two paychecks aren’t gonna be nice…

June 29, 2008 on 10:51 am | In Asides, Personal | No Comments

My next two paychecks are not looking good, due to the fact that I have so many days off. :( Oh well, I will have to try and make do. Maybe it is time I start hunting for a new job, as I’m pretty tired of working in the fast-food industry for a total of four years now. I’m hoping to get a job in the computer sector. What would be perfect is Joffee Publishing Inc. and the network taking off and being able to support me. ;) Ah well, life is like this somethimes I guess. :(

Almost time to go back to work…

June 28, 2008 on 9:41 am | In Asides, Personal | 1 Comment

Well, it’s almost time to go back to work at McDonalds. ;) Although I’m starting to wonder if I should not find a new job, having worked there for 4 years come July. After all, some jobs can get boring and not very fun if you have worked there for a while.

Rant of the Week for June 27, 2008.

June 27, 2008 on 1:55 pm | In Rants | No Comments

First, I would like to rant about how the weather is lousy for this time of year. Why can’t it be nice and hot and dry, instead of cool and wet? I would blame global warming, except I believe it’s a natural, recurring phenomenon. Look back in history, back to the 1100’s and notice that the weather there was warmer than normal for a period there too. However, the world cooled off, enough that people call it “The Little Ice Age”, so I believe it will happen again! ;)
Next, I would like to rant about spammers. Why post off-topic links to garbage when you know it will just wind up getting you banned from a site? You know that if you send out your garbage via email, your ISP will be notified and you’ll get kicked off, so why try on forums and other public sites? Maybe some people just don’t learn!

Finally, I would like to rant against this summer cold/flu I have. Why does illness have to strike when the weather is finally staying above the freezing mark during the night? It makes no sense to me, unless my lack of sleep is partly to blame! I hate having to stick indoors when it’s so nice outside finally!

Kitten surprise!

June 27, 2008 on 1:31 pm | In Personal | No Comments

Boy, did I get a surprise when I went out to see the kittens in Mom’s greenhouse today. There were three of them originally: Mocha, Muffin, and Sweet-pea. However, when I got out to the greenhouse, there were three new kittens, two all black and one that resembled Mocha, but was darker in color. We have decided to call them Shadow II, Midnight II, and Tigress. If you are wondering why we just didn’t call the black kittens Shadow and Midnight, it is because we already had a Shadow and a Midnight living underneath the greenhouse. But all of the cats that were living underneath the greenhouse have vanished. We think the local coyotes are to blame. :(

I’m on Twitter now!

June 26, 2008 on 11:48 am | In Asides, Personal | No Comments

Yep, I decided to join Twitter. I’m whiteeagle2008 there, and I’ve added a widget to the sidebar that will show updates here. Why not Join Twitter today?

I’m also feeling better today. It must be from all the chicken noodle soup I’ve had the last two days. ;)

Just a quick update about JobMarket

June 25, 2008 on 1:58 pm | In Asides, Programming | No Comments

Just a quick update about JobMarket:

I have decided to terminate the SourceForge.net project because I want to learn PHP and MySQL while doing it. If people do the coding instead of me, I may not learn as much as I possibly could.

I’m not feeling so good.

June 25, 2008 on 12:13 am | In Asides | No Comments

I’m not feeling so good tonight. I have a summer cold or flu, and earlier I was stung by a hornet. The sting felt worse than working with a cold/flu to me. Thankfully, the sting is just down to a little red bit of skin around where I got stung,

I’m working on JobMarket, when I’m not enjoying DVDs.

June 23, 2008 on 12:30 pm | In Insider Info, Programming | No Comments

I am working on JobMarket, when I am not enjoying a DVD. ;) So far, I have managed to edit the theme enough so that the date and greeting are even with the new banner created by Sean C Graphics. I have also created a project on SourceForge.net, but it has not yet been approved. If you want to help me code it, please consider joining it. There will be a link posted here and at JobMarket when the project has been approved.

I also added a contact page at JobMarket, so that users and browsers of the site, can contact Joffee Publishing Inc, who runs the site. The next step is to code the registration, login, and resume/job posting pages.

I have five days off this week, and I can’t decide what to do!

June 22, 2008 on 1:19 pm | In Personal | No Comments

I have five days off this week, and I don’t know exactly what I should do. My options are as follows:

1. Movie watching and gaming.
2. Working on my first novel.
3. Finish programming JobMarket (http://jobmarket.joffeepublish.com/).
4. Something you can suggest!

What should I do during my time off?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Apparently alot of people don’t like Bill C-61.

June 21, 2008 on 6:08 pm | In Plans | No Comments

Apparently, over seventeen thousand of them don’t like it, because they have joined this Facebook group. I said I think it will be okay, and I still stand by my opinion. In case you want to read the bill itself, here’s a link to it. Please think hard before deciding to oppose this one. Personally, I think it’s a good compromise. Why can’t you all be happy with that? It’s not US-style, at least!

Need a soundcard?

June 20, 2008 on 4:09 pm | In Insider Info, Personal | No Comments

Do you need a sound card for your computer? Well, I’m auctioning one here. You must be registered and logged-in in order to post a bid. Here’s a picture of it:

Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

In other news, if AdultFunPlace.org doesn’t get busy in a month, I will terminate the site and get rid of that hosting (including offering adult blog hosting at Joffee Publishing).

Rant of the Week for June 20, 2008.

June 20, 2008 on 2:02 am | In Rants | 2 Comments

My first thing to rant about is the soon need to dial ten numbers to make a local call! I mean 10 numbers? Come on! Alberta must be having a super boom of telephone users for that to happen! It also means alot of people are going to have to reprogram their telephones’ speed dial numbers! Talk about annoying!
