I’m quite pleased to announce that CityCraft’s Minecraft server will soon be open! I have purchased the hosting (from MCProHosting) and the modpack setup this morning and have submitted the tickets to set up the groups and plugins the server needs. Hopefully, by the end of next week, we will be able to begin playing on the server!
The poll I started Monday ended last night quite clearly – you want more than just Minecraft on my Twitch channel! To honor this result, this week’s poll for Follower Friday has no Minecraft option and is open for a little over two days – another lesson I learned about Twitter polls. Running them for more than one day will get you votes!
Speaking of Minecraft, I added OpenComputers to my mods and to CityCraft – it allows for more options. I just wish the mod OpenSecurity was updated for 1.12.2 as well, as it would make implementing security for places like the mint, banks and other special builds easier. To program the computers to do what I want to be done, I also need to learn the Lua programming language or find a Minecrafter that does and wants to play on the CityCraft server.
I should probably mention here that CityCraft has its own Discord server. I figured one of those would be useful for some instant chat when we are in the game. Voice chat is limited to Citizens and above (Citizens are those who have registered on the forums at citycraft.net.) but it’s a good place if you want to hang out and discuss Minecraft.
I’ve set up a poll on Twitter that will run for 48 hours from the time I launched it that asks if you want my channel on Twitch to focus on Minecraft only, or continue to stream lots of different games and not have a primary game. Please vote in it and let me know what your opinion is – thanks a lot!
I got my first tip today on the same day I got the same person following me on Twitch! Yeah, it’s just a dollar, but it’s the value that I was tipped and someone appreciated the work that I put into my live streams. Of course, no one voted on this week’s poll on Twitter, so I got to choose the game I wanted to play. I’m going to do another live stream this evening because I want to remake my tools (lost it first to a fall from a high place including an elevator block – a lot of work went into that – then to lava when I fell in) and I’m so happy over getting my first tip plus I’ll probably be playing this world a lot less after the CityCraft server goes live.
I’ve shut down Unlimited Fan Fiction, and this time that website will stay closed with me as the owner. (If you want the domain to run a fan fiction archive, contact me – I’d be happy to sell the domain to you.) It doesn’t jive anymore with the way I want to live my life anymore so it had to go.
On the other hand, I’m pleased to announce the soon opening of the Disciples of Jesus website. It is a free community for all believers, and it is non-denominational, so leave any denomination-related topics at the door, please. 😉 Besides the forums, it also will contain a link directory for Christian websites.
I’m also pleased to announce the soon opening (later in the week than Disciples of Jesus) of the CityCraft website. CityCraft will be a community focused on modded Minecraft (check the FAQs in the forums for the specific list of mods) and now I’d like to say that the community and myself are not affiliated or associated with Mojang or Microsoft in any way. This is just a free community and modded server for those who enjoy playing the game of Minecraft, though donations will be appreciated (and those who give will not get any in-game bonuses).
I’ve got to work this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon, then have the next three days off. I’m hoping to have the Disciples of Jesus website ready to go by the time I leave today, but it may not open until tomorrow. CityCraft should be done by Friday evening at the latest. 😉
I hope to see you around one of those communities or the next time I post here on my blog! 😉
Fridays are now Follower Fridays on my Twitch channel! Every Thursday evening (starting yesterday), I’ll post a tweet with a poll asking which of the four games you want me to see me play which will expire 5 minutes before the live stream starts on my channel. I’ll play the game that wins the poll for a minimum of two hours, but there are ways you can get me to play longer:
- Subscribe to my channel on Twitch and I’ll add 30 minutes of play time.
- Follow me (or convince a friend to do so) and I’ll add 15 minutes of play time.
- Tip bits or money via the link in my Twitch profile. For every $1 or 100 bits tipped, I’ll add 5 minutes of play time!
I’ll track the time (and events which add time) via the Bebo app (on my secondary monitor) which is what I use to stream my games to Twitch. When I reach the total time (2 hours + whatever my fans earned from subs, follows, bits, and donations) or 10 PM MT, I’ll end the live stream.
