I’ve shut down Unlimited Fan Fiction, and this time that website will stay closed with me as the owner. (If you want the domain to run a fan fiction archive, contact me – I’d be happy to sell the domain to you.) It doesn’t jive anymore with the way I want to live my life anymore so it had to go.
On the other hand, I’m pleased to announce the soon opening of the Disciples of Jesus website. It is a free community for all believers, and it is non-denominational, so leave any denomination-related topics at the door, please. 😉 Besides the forums, it also will contain a link directory for Christian websites.
I’m also pleased to announce the soon opening (later in the week than Disciples of Jesus) of the CityCraft website. CityCraft will be a community focused on modded Minecraft (check the FAQs in the forums for the specific list of mods) and now I’d like to say that the community and myself are not affiliated or associated with Mojang or Microsoft in any way. This is just a free community and modded server for those who enjoy playing the game of Minecraft, though donations will be appreciated (and those who give will not get any in-game bonuses).
I’ve got to work this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon, then have the next three days off. I’m hoping to have the Disciples of Jesus website ready to go by the time I leave today, but it may not open until tomorrow. CityCraft should be done by Friday evening at the latest. 😉
I hope to see you around one of those communities or the next time I post here on my blog! 😉
PlayerCrunch is almost ready for new members and when that is the case, I’ll be using it as my “sponsor” for my Twitch channel streams. Instead of adding things that I’m not ready for (because I can’t afford everything), instead, I’ll only be adding in features when I can add them fully. Yes, it means that the community may not have as many features as others, but it will run more smoothly (and new features will have more meaning).
I’m going to wait to launch my Patreon page until I have at least fifty (50) followers on Twitch. This will make sure that I am dedicated to the live stream and won’t shut it down in the near future. If you would like to see it come about and don’t yet follow me on Twitch, please consider following me (and telling your friends about my Twitch channel) – you’ll be alerted when I go live if you do! 😉
I’m considering renting a Minecraft server in the near future. It would be running version 1.12.2 and Nature’s Beauty modpack in easy survival mode. I am also thinking about using the map I am playing now as the world map.
I am also streaming bits of my playing of this map in modded Minecraft on Twitch four days a week, so if you can come watch me play. I’m planning on building a city over the course of the series, so leave suggestions in the comments here about what buildings (and farms) you would like to see me build after I finish my house and the future automatic mob farm (which will be built inside the mountain the mine entrance is located in behind my house). I already have a manual tree farm running near my place for my wood requirements (as long as you don’t mind birch) and a small sugar cane farm in the courtyard in the center of my home. I am also considering moving my farm from near the mineshaft to somewhere closer to my house. At the beginning of the game and series, I was living in the mine, so that’s why the farm is now in its place now, but now it’s time to move it. (I also have a water trap for fish and a ground trap for peaceful mobs in place and running – I need more string to make more bait.)
I’m also looking at crafting another pulvus (crushing machine) for my automatic setup. This way if I need to turn cobblestone blocks into glass blocks (which requires two crushing times: cobblestone to gravel, and the gravel blocks to sand blocks which can be smelted into glass blocks in the furnace). I already have a separate furnace for cooking food, but I’m looking at making a third to turn wood to charcoal (as wood is renewable and four planks can make 2 or 3 charcoal pieces from logs) for fuel for my operations (and crafting as coal and two iron ingots can make one iron lantern).
I’m going to use iron lanterns as part of my streetlights for the roads and maybe also for the subway tunnels as well. I’m going to fashion to roads out of stairs and slabs (thus rending them unable to support hostile mob spawning as mobs need a full non-transparent block to spawn on). I’m still deciding whether place my home inside or outside the main city – let me know what you think I should do! 😉
I’ve got a spare copy of 20th Century Masters: Bing Crosby: The Christmas Collection if anyone who enjoys music wants it. I just want it to have a good home where the music will be appreciated. If you are interested, get in contact with me via Facebook or by leaving a comment on this post. 😉
I’ve also decided to quit playing the Horizons III modpack and go back to Nature’s Beauty modpack by Welsknight (he’s on YouTube and Twitch). Why? I was focusing more on machines and mining the ores I need to make them than I was on the building of new structures (which is my favorite part of Minecraft). So what I broadcast yesterday is not what people can expect the next time I stream Minecraft on Twitch.
What is a blog?
Most people who are online should know what one is, but for those of you who are new to the internet, I’ll explain it in this post. The word blog comes from the phrase “web log” with web referring to the internet and the word log meaning a group of posts ordered by date. They can also be organized by categories and/or tags.
Why should I host my blog with The WhiteEagle’s Aerie?
Running your own blog means that you are responsible for everything – security, choosing the plugins, choosing the theme, updates, and everything else that comes with it. Here we take care of the security and updates, and can also help you if you run into issues with themes or plugins. It is also free for if you need up to 512 MB of storage for your uploaded media – most hosts start out at least $4.99/month or more (depending on the level of service and hosting you choose). You also have to put up with ads, but can remove them, increase the number of themes, plugins, and your storage for just C$5/month for our cheapest subscription.
Yes, you have to also abide by our rules, but even if you go the running your own blog unless you can run a server yourself, you have to abide by someone’s rules. Our rules are just common sense – no adult content (unless you can justify it as artistic and/or educational and not just titillating), no spam, and respecting the other members in the forums. The no adult content rule comes from our payment provider Paypal, which doesn’t allow adult-related transactions through its service.

Get started today by registering for an account (on this the main site) and after you verify your email address and log in, just choose the Add New option under My Sites to get started. You will need to provide a site domain, name and tagline to get started. You will also need to pick the site’s privacy level, but you can always change that in your settings if you change your mind later. Please take note that a Site Admin (like myself) can view all sites in the network regardless of this setting. After that is done, congratulations, you now can write for your own blog and have others read it as well! Good luck and happy writing!
Update: This site is now just a single-person blog and registration has been disabled completely.
