I will be live streaming to YouTube three days a week from now on as my schedule. Those days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (today, what an interesting development 😉 ) and on the days I work in the afternoon I will be streaming until noon, and on the days I am off, I will be streaming as long as I want to. Occasionally I will be streaming on Saturdays when I feel like it as well, but it isn’t part of the official schedule. 😉 If you want to know when the next stream is, join my Discord server and you will get a notification when I go live.
Next weekend (July 27th – July 29th) is my family reunion, so I doubt I’ll be able to stream anything Friday or Saturday, and maybe something on Sunday evening again. I’ll try to make up for this by streaming in the morning Mon – Thurs (with Thursday being longer as a day off work).
Hey, citizens of CityCraft and visitors to my blog!
Due to the lack of players on the CityCraft server, lack of posts on the CityCraft forums, and active chat in the Discord server, I am severely inclined to shut the Discord server and website down and switch the Minecraft server to a whitelisted one for my Patreon supporters and Twitch subscribers. Unless the CityCraft server becomes more active (as well as the Discord server and the CityCraft forum) soon, I will be doing this.
I do not wish to take this action, but I feel I have no choice in this. I would also be rebooting the CityCraft server and changing the modpack (adding two plugins, one of them a major one in Tinker’s).
Thanks for your time today,
Nathan Pinno (swagnillaice)
PS. If I do take this action, I’ll move the modpack and zip file links here to a password-protected page and give the password only to my subscribers and supporters. That page will also contain a list of the mods my server and I use.
The poll I started Monday ended last night quite clearly – you want more than just Minecraft on my Twitch channel! To honor this result, this week’s poll for Follower Friday has no Minecraft option and is open for a little over two days – another lesson I learned about Twitter polls. Running them for more than one day will get you votes!
Speaking of Minecraft, I added OpenComputers to my mods and to CityCraft – it allows for more options. I just wish the mod OpenSecurity was updated for 1.12.2 as well, as it would make implementing security for places like the mint, banks and other special builds easier. To program the computers to do what I want to be done, I also need to learn the Lua programming language or find a Minecrafter that does and wants to play on the CityCraft server.
I should probably mention here that CityCraft has its own Discord server. I figured one of those would be useful for some instant chat when we are in the game. Voice chat is limited to Citizens and above (Citizens are those who have registered on the forums at citycraft.net.) but it’s a good place if you want to hang out and discuss Minecraft.
I’ve set up a poll on Twitter that will run for 48 hours from the time I launched it that asks if you want my channel on Twitch to focus on Minecraft only, or continue to stream lots of different games and not have a primary game. Please vote in it and let me know what your opinion is – thanks a lot!
PlayerCrunch is almost ready for new members and when that is the case, I’ll be using it as my “sponsor” for my Twitch channel streams. Instead of adding things that I’m not ready for (because I can’t afford everything), instead, I’ll only be adding in features when I can add them fully. Yes, it means that the community may not have as many features as others, but it will run more smoothly (and new features will have more meaning).
I’m using a dual-monitor setup now for my streaming. It will allow me to see my Bebo control panel on the secondary monitor while I am also playing the game on my main monitor. In the control panel, I’ll be able to see Twitch chat and events, and control sound levels and the various scenes. Today’s the first run of this setup at 10 am, so come to Twitch and watch the stream and chat with me (if you like what you see, follow my channel there to be notified when I start streaming by email).
I’m no longer streaming Minecraft on Twitch because I believe that watching me play it is not helping me gain followers on Twitch. Instead, I’m playing games like Surviving Mars where there should be more interesting stuff and thus more exciting for people to want to watch my stream.
