I’m using a dual-monitor setup now for my streaming. It will allow me to see my Bebo control panel on the secondary monitor while I am also playing the game on my main monitor. In the control panel, I’ll be able to see Twitch chat and events, and control sound levels and the various scenes. Today’s the first run of this setup at 10 am, so come to Twitch and watch the stream and chat with me (if you like what you see, follow my channel there to be notified when I start streaming by email).
Due to the failure of Streamlabs OBS to show my latest game on RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe, I have to redo Dynamite Dunes for my viewers on Twitch. I have also switched back to Bebo for my streaming purposes, but have integrated Streamlabs Alert Box and credits into the scenes. Hopefully, I will get alerted when I get a follower using Streamlabs because Bebo failed to alert me when I got my first follower on Twitch.
I may actually decide to stream some Cities: Skylines, Factorio, or Surviving Mars for my next live stream instead of RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe. I doubt I will stream much Minecraft as watching me dig tunnels as I hunt for resources doesn’t sound very interesting to me (and I rarely talk to boot). Though with Factorio I tend to have problems designing my factory as I haven’t yet finished a single game. I also get bogged down in Cities: Skylines but I’m confident that’s more of a steeper learning curve as it’s been a while since I’ve managed a city. I could also do some OpenTTD, but I haven’t yet played that game on this computer.
I do have my art supplies set up in a corner of my living room, but I need to find some time to do so (either that or start getting off my computer more often and do other things). I also need to focus on keeping my apartment clean, as I need to wash the rest of my dishes and clean the bathroom and floors. Some would say that it’s because I’m a bachelor, but I will disagree and say it’s because I am lazy which is never a good thing. I’m going to go wash a load of dishes after I get done writing this post, and then decide what I’m going to do next.
Better go and get started on those dishes, so take care! 😉
I’m going to try streaming again, but instead of using YouTube, I’m going to be using Twitch. Why Twitch? It seems easier for me to work with, and it even recommended an app with integrated login support called Bebo. Twitch is also designed for game streaming whereas YouTube is more focused on recorded videos.
When will I be streaming?
I will be streaming 3-4 morning a week around 10 am or so. I will never be streaming on a weekend, as I already have Bible Study (and sometimes coffee afterward) on Saturdays and church on Sundays. I may also sometimes stream in the evenings after work or in the afternoons on my days off (except for the first Saturday of each month which I have a WordPress Meetup to attend in the afternoon for an hour or so at 2 PM).
What games will I be streaming on Twitch?
I have the following games installed that I will be streaming to Twitch (not my full list of games, just ones I plan to stream):
- Minecraft (modded with FTB Horizons III for 1.12.2)
- Cities: Skylines (a couple of DLCs installed)
- Software Inc.
- Academia School Simulator
- Railroad Tycoon II
- Surviving Mars
- Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe
- Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum
- Airport CEO
- Stronghold HD
- other games on my Steam wishlist
There are a couple of games that are installed on my computer which makes them not suitable for streaming – either due to them being a clicker-like game (AdVenture Capitalist) or their content is not suitable for younger viewers.
What can my readers do to support me?
Most importantly, watch the streams on Twitch! Having viewers means a lot, and if you are a member, follow my channel – you’ll get an email when I go live! I’ll also be announcing my streams via my Twitter account, so follow me there if you have an account! If you love what you are seeing from me, you can also support me financially by either tipping me via the Bits system in Twitch or via the donate image link there (payments are processed via Paypal for the donations)!
I look forward to streaming soon for all of you who enjoy watching people play games!
